Fab Four Cover Issue #11

The Fab Four No. 11 – Enter The Ultra Sonic  The winter in

Belgium was hard.  Extra cold temperatures kept most kids

indoors, most of the time.  That wasn't the case for teen ace,

Tecnicus.  Between his daily life, school, work at an animal

shelter and his secret life as a globe hopping super heroes,

the young power house has spent nearly all of his time in

the harsh cold.  So when he got the opportunity to spend

time with his new friend, and fellow super powered teen

Minick, called Nick by his friends, in the Philippines, he

didn't hesitate.  The two had communicated via the internet

for months, but never met face-to-face.  Both also followed

the others superhero careers, and had looked forward to

compare notes, but the call of the beach and youthful fun

got in the way.  The two teens attended a beach party, and

concert, for it was one year ago on the same beach and

event that Nick's mutant powers manifested themselves.

That night, after the last of the party goers had left for home,

tiny crab-like creatures ventured out of the surf.  Each

incredibly fast and stealthy.  The crabs were non-living man

made devises.  The last one out of the water revealed its

function, as an armored weaponized commando is trans-

ported to the devise's location.  All over the island nation

the 'tele-crabs' gave access to key strategic locations all

over the Philippines: Military installations, the air port,

police stations, government buildings and even hospitals.  At

sun rise the military take over of the Philippines begun.  The

town where Nick lives is isolated and the invasion of the

island isn't apparent, until Nick's brother wakes both youths

with the news that no one in town has television, radio or

internet.  Tecnicus notice fires in the distance, and uses his

powers to create a working satellite receiver unit.  He picks

up the only local communications, from the military invaders.

Just then, a grenade is tossed next to Tecnicus' construct, and

explodes.  Instinctively, the teen marvel protects himself with a

bubble shield.  In a flash he emerges from the shield in uniform.

Standing at the head of the street, are a dozen armed assault

troops, with weapons drawn.  Tecnicus doesn't wait to be fired

upon, instead creating a battering ram to disperse the group.

Their weapon are advanced, new wave particle pulse rifles.

Powerful enough to shatter and construct Tecnicus imagines

in time.  He decides to attack using  a full frontal tactic to

catch the soldiers off guard.  Protecting himself with an

armored suit of his own, he tears into the invaders, being

careful not to damage the innocent towns people hiding in

their homes.  The fight is mostly one sided in favor of the

young hero, until three troopers enters Nick's home.  Before

Tecnicus can act, he is overcome by a piercing sound rolling

around in his head.  As the sound brings the young hero to

his knees, he sees the auditory assault also affects the soldiers,

who exits Nick's home.  As they hit the street, Tecnicus fires

his light beam to take them out one at a time, but the sonic

wave continues until Nick, in his guise as Ultra Sonic exits and

sees his heroic buddy on the ground.  Apologizing, Ultra Sonic

explains his wave was intended to reverberate inside the troop's

armor, and not affect anyone else.  He was unaware Tecnicus

had his own armor.   After clearing his head, Tecnicus learned that

the troops arrived by submarine, but not how they were able to

advance onto the country was quickly and wide spread.  Ultra

Sonic uses his powers to place the captured troopers in a trance

like sleep.  They revealed the 'tele-crabs' gave the invaders the

means to transport anywhere in the Philippines they were programmed

to go.  Ultra Sonic and Tecnicus set out to find one of these devises.

A task which was not difficult, since they littered the whole country.

Tecnicus studied the inner working, but could figure how it operated.

He did know the tele-crabs was like a receiver, with GPS.  He may

be able to reverse the signal and send them back, but he would be

able to move the tele-crabs to a target.  The invaders would have to

go to them.  Tecnicus used his powers to create another tele-crab

based on his understanding of the one they found, Ultra Sonic monitored

the sounds throughout the island nation to located the hundreds of

soldiers.  The two teen marvels set out to repel the commandos, using

their own devises.  As they attacked, they freed captured police and

military personnel, telling them of the plan.  Get the invaders within two

feet of the tele-crabs, which were reset to return the commandos back

to their submarine.  Ultra Sonic made it possible for local communications

were restored, using captured radios of the invaders.  All over the country

the invading troops are sent back to the sub, other are captured by

officials.  In less than a day, the invasion is repelled.  As the last of the

troops are forced back, a huge ocean explosion rocks the Philippines.  It

was the enemy submarine.  Military authorities report dozens of unarmed

subs surrounding the nation, but Tecnicus and Ultra Sonic's plan sent the

troopers to the same location...the one submarine.  The islands were safe

for now, but the captured commandos never revealed who they worked for.

Ultra Sonic invited the Fab Four to a celebration.  Tecnicus contacts the

other Fab members by phone.  What treats await the team in the future?
